It’s the end of Black History Month (you know, the shortest month of the year, lol) and it’s time for our monthly goal check-in. Have you been working towards your goals and aspirations for this year and beyond?
Of course, it’s always easier said than done. In order to fight for your dreams, fight for that promotion, that position, or even that extracurricular activity/hobby, please know the road will not be paved with gold and the journey will not be easy. But if one thing is certain, bet on yourself! Today’s blog post will be a short one, but I promise it will hit deep.
In honor of safeguarding your legacy and future generational changes you hope to make, the timewithsig fan club (while simultaneously wearing their jerseys, of course lol) asks you to stop playing second fiddle. We have got things to do, people to see and tasks to accomplish. We don’t have time for overanalyzing, second-guessing and dwelling on the things we can’t change.
You’re better than this and you deserve more- in fact, you deserve first place. In my last blog post, I mentioned how evading your dreams can somehow manifest itself into self-sabotage.
Free yourself from the unnecessary and sometimes, self-inflicted bondage. You deserve to sprout, grow and enjoy life from a different vantage point.
Say goodbye to the BONSAI! (every now and then, my rhyming takes off and there’s no stopping me, lol- case and point)
Don’t profess to be the miniature plant in the garden. There’s nothing ideal about stunted growth. Sprout upward so you can motivate and inspire other plants in the garden to believe in their nutrients and organic contents and eventually, grow like you once did.
Where are you going with this Sig? Okay, well the point I’m making is to not self-sabotage yourself any longer. Take that chance, reach for that goal because as you know, life is short. But equally important to that adage, is you never know who’s watching. Sometimes your upward trajectory can and may shift the mindset and self-awareness of someone else watching (from afar or up close).
Do this for you! And remember, when you reach the top, some will only see champagne, not the champ’s pain. At that moment, recount the sleepless nights, the planning, and the unmatched effort that placed you in the spotlight of your dreams.
One step at a time my friend. It’s worth it. You’re worth it…

This was an awesome read… I needed this reminder since I’ve been feeling a little unsure about taking the next big step with my life. This solidified that I gotta just go out there and make it happen!
